The WCC Foundation oversees both General Foundation Grants and grants from The H. Richard Crane Science Lab Endowment.

Scholarships for GED preparation students who cannot afford to pay the $30 fee for the class. Because this is a non-credit class, students are not eligible for financial aid or Foundation scholarships. |

Conduct a workshop at the Scrap Box in Ann Arbor for students in the Child Care Professional program. |

Assist needy students in the Child Development Associate program who need help paying for the national certification fee of $325. |
Continuing Education & Community Services |
Support for the “Heighten the Educational & Leadership Potential (HELP) of youth” project operated out of the Harriet St. extension center. The program, in partnership with Ypsilanti Community Schools, Michigan Works and EMU, engages at-risk students in academic and social enrichment activities to improve their academic achievement and introduce them to college. |
Continuing Education |
Scholarships for 36 needy students in the Phlebotomy program, which leads students directly to an employment opportunity. Because this is a non-credit program, financial aid is not available. |
Counseling & Career Planning |
Augment existing departmental fund to assist students with emergency financial needs such as purchasing books, bus tokens, uniforms or other supplies. |
Curriculum & Assessment |
Help offset expenses for WCC’s Camp Compute, summer computer and technology camps for underserved middle and high school students designed to introduce young people to college and give WCC students leadership experience as “camp counselors.” |

Assist with the production costs of student literary zine, “Blood Orange.” |

Purchase 160 tickets to 4 different UMS performances (40 per performance). |

Assist students in four week-long, foreign language study immersion program in Costa Rica. |

Purchase manipulatives to assist students in the developmental math courses to help improve completion rates. |
Performing Arts |
Help expand drama/theater program to retain quality professionals to assist student productions while adding a second theater production geared toward performing at area theaters (such as Riverside Arts Center) |
Physical Sciences |
Purchasing 5 microscopes and accompanying supplies for the SCI 101 lab instead of simply using slide “viewers” |

Purchase dynamic carts and tracks for use in “The Nature of Science”, a general ed required course. This equipment tends to be hard to find when it is needed as it is often in use in the physics labs. |
