In this course, international students will develop the listening, note taking and speaking skills needed for success in American college classrooms. Instructional activities will include a variety of formal speech acts, such as introducing, announcing and negotiating. In addition to mastering English Phonemes and suprasegmentals, students will focus on correct pronunciation of high-level vocabulary from the Academic Word List in the context of formal speaking.
