WCC Names Larry Barkoff as New General Counsel

The Washtenaw Community College Board of Trustees unanimously approved the nomination of Larry Barkoff as the college’s new General Counsel. His appointment is effective July 22, 2013.

Barkoff has been an attorney for 12 years, most recently serving for 10 years as a member of the Eastern Michigan University general counsel office. Prior to that, he was associate attorney for Plunkett and Cooney Law Firm in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., where he practiced labor and employment law.

Barkoff received his bachelor’s in International Relations and his master’s in Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University. He received his Juris doctor from Wayne State University. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Labor & Employment Law Section, National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA), and the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC).
