Advanced Certificate
You can earn an entry-level management certificate in just one semester.
This program is being discontinued. Students currently enrolled need to complete it by the end of the Spring/Summer 2023 semester.
The Management Certificate Program is designed for students who are interested in learning necessary management skills to land their first job or move up in a current position. You will develop skills to form a critical and creative approach to management problem solving.
Classes are offered on campus and in online formats to accommodate working professionals.
Upon completing this program, students will be able to use various management tools to:
- Develop goals and strategies,
- Organize work activities,
- Promote desired employee performance, and
- Monitor productivity with a customer focus.
This Certificate may be applied towards the Management Associates of Applied Science.
This is a high demand, high skill and high wage program as defined by the Michigan Community College Network.

2020-2021 Academic Requirements
This advanced certificate offers students in any occupation or trade an opportunity to acquire skills to supervise an operation by learning and applying basic management principles through case studies and exercises. Upon completing this program, students will be able to use various tools to manage an operation which includes developing goals, organizing work activities, promoting desired employee performance, and monitoring productivity with a customer focus. Emphasis will be placed on developing skills that will involve both a critical and creative approach to management problem-solving activities. The advanced certificate may also be applied toward a WCC Associate in Applied Science Degree.
