Supporting Students and the Community
Since its founding in 1983, the WCC Foundation has supported thousands of students with scholarships and assistance for unexpected transportation, food, housing and childcare challenges. The Foundation awarded more than 1,100 scholarships during the 2018 school year, which included new Finish Line Scholarships that help complete their degrees. WCC is grateful to the many generous people, businesses and foundations that have provided the donations and grants that allow the Foundation to achieve its powerful mission.
WCC Foundation
The mission of WCC Foundation is to give hope and support to Washtenaw Community College students through scholarships and other philanthropic support, creating a better educated workforce and a stronger community.
30 years of Supporting Students
- Awarded more than 10,000 scholarships (over $6.2 million)
- Provided more than $1.5 million in other educational and emergency support—child care assistance, emergency food pantry, transportation funds, textbook vouchers
- Supported faculty and students through grants for innovative learning opportunities
- Donors currently support 79 annual funds and 260 endowment funds

The Foundation hosts interesting and fun special events each year including the Winter Gala, which features magnificent appetizers, dinner and desserts prepared by prominent chefs, the Annual Jerry Jernigan Memorial Golf Outing, 18 holes of challenging golf, a Helicopter Ball Drop Raffle, great prizes and giveaways, and an outstanding digital auction.
