Associate in Arts
This associate degree program introduces students to film as a medium of artistic expression and persuasion. Students will critically study motion pictures covering a variety of eras, cultures, and genres. They will be introduced to the various elements of the creative process involved in film making such as:
- narrative,
- acting,
- mise-en-scene (the arrangement of scenery and stage properties in a play),
- editing,
- cinematography and
- sound.
Students will develop the skills necessary to critically and technically evaluate one of the most dynamic and influential art forms of the past 100 years.
This is a high skill and high wage program as defined by the Michigan Community College Network.

2020-2021 Academic Requirements
