Certificate
This certificate program prepares students to enter the ever-evolving field of photography by providing a strong foundation of technical and aesthetic skills. Areas of study include:
- basic camera operation and composition skills,
- film and digital exposure and processing methods,
- studio lighting, and
- printing and presentation techniques.
Graduating students produce professional portfolios and self-promotional materials to find employment in a variety of areas such as photographic assisting, photojournalism, fine art, freelance, portrait, and wedding photography. Students also complete the program to use photography as a means of personal expression, and as preparation for transferring to a 4-year college or university.
