Overview
The WCC Math Department is here to help you succeed in completing the math required for your degree or program. If math is your favorite subject or math is 'just a requirement' for you, or you are discovering a love of math, we are here for you. We have designed STEM and non-STEM pathways for you, no matter where you need to start. And, our ALEKS placement provides you with a unique opportunity to work independently to achieve any math level.
In the STEM pathway you can work from Beginning Algebra up through the entire Calculus sequence (see our Course Progression). In the non-STEM pathway you can work from Pathways to Math Literacy to Statistics or Everyday College Math: these courses have specifically been designed to provide real-world applications with technology for the 21st century.
At WCC you will find smaller classes and flexible options, and many of our college-level classes transfer to 4-year colleges, including the University of Michigan, Michigan State, and Eastern Michigan University. See transfer equivalencies.
Our faculty are here for you with face to face, blended, and online options. All of our math faculty have advanced degrees but have chosen to teach... each one is here to help YOU get where you need to go.

Helpful Resources
Apps for Developmental Mathematics classes
Need extra practice on basic skills for Math 067, or Math 097? There is an App for that. Search by class name, MTH 067, for example, in ITunes or the Android store. Infinite problems, immediate feedback, badges to check progress are available for FREE.
Math Resource Center
The Math Resource Center, located in room GM 201 of the Gunder Myran Building, provides services to improve students' mathematical skills. There are computers for student use.
Bailey Library
The Richard W. Bailey Library, located on the first floor of the Gunder Myran Building, provides most of the WCC Mathematics course texts for in-library use only. Additional items include study guides, notes, and reviews. Please check with your instructor about the availability of these materials for your class.
Learning Support Services
Tutors are available for assistance; check the Learning Support Services - Math Resources page for details and for hours. If you feel that you learn differently or have a learning disability that requires a certain accommodation, tutoring is available at Learning Support Services, located in room LA 104 of the Liberal Arts Building, phone: 734-973-3342.
