Child Development (CTCDA)

Certificate

Jumpstart your career with a CDA! This Child Development certificate is the first level in a 3-tier training program. This program prepares students for the assessment exam required for the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. It also prepares students for employment in child care centers or in family home daycare settings working with infants and toddlers, or preschoolers. This program emphasizes skills from the 13 functional areas required by the National Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition. This certificate can be earned with 10 semester hours in just one semester. It is the first step in achieving an associate degree and it is the minimum requirement for employment in most quality child care centers and early education programs.

T.E.A.C.H. scholarships covering tuition and the CDA assessment are available for qualified students. For more info: miaeyc.org.

This is a high demand program as defined by the Michigan Community College Network.
