Automotive Test Technician (APATT)

In this program you will learn about the exciting technology-filled world of data acquisition processes used in automotive testing. You will learn the skills to fabricate and instrument-testing systems used for transportation development. You will utilize Washtenaw Community College's updated facilities to learn about technology rich topics such as chassis dynamometer testing and carbon fiber part construction. The skills you will acquire from this program will launch your career in one of our region's many research and development facilities.

2020-2021 Academic Requirements

 

In this program, students will be introduced to the test and data acquisition processes used in automotive testing. Students will learn to assemble and disassemble components for automotive testing. Diagnosis, maintenance and proper operation of complex data acquisition equipment are essential. Students will learn to monitor and calibrate testing instruments. Job possibilities include working in a crash lab or other testing facility.
