Dual Enrollment at WCC offers academically qualified high school freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors the opportunity to take courses at WCC while still attending their home high school. Students must be enrolled in at least one high school class to be able to register for classes at WCC.

Dual Enrollment Steps

Students must apply and be admitted to WCC prior to registering for class. *Tip: dual enrollment students apply as NonDegree applicants. - Complete the Application Checklist

Get Admitted
Dual enrolled students must be at college level in both reading and writing to be admitted to WCC.College readiness minimum requirements for reading and writing:
- PSAT 10 PSAT 11 | Reading 23 Writing 23
- SAT | Reading 24 Writing 24
- Accuplacer | Reading 253 Writing 250 *can be completed remotely
- High School GPA | Complete 11th grade with a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Writing Sample | Submit a writing sample through Blackboard *prompt and directions are found in Blackboard, which can be accessed remotely
There is no minimum math requirement for admittance to WCC. Students who wish to take a math course or register for a course with a math requirement will need to meet that courses math requirement prior to registering for the class. - Complete Dual Enrollment Paperwork

All incoming students must complete a Orientation/Pre-Advising Session (time/date specific), or the Virtual Connect Session (done at your leisure). Students who are new to online learning are encouraged to take the Ready for Online Learning (ROLL) self-guided training.

- Pay for classes
In many cases, your school district will pay your WCC tuition. However, payment policies vary among school districts, so ask your high school counselor for more information. The information in the dual enrollment packet explains what you need to submit to WCC. Payment or payment authorization needs to be submitted for each semester you are enrolled. Students can also connect with the WCC Cashier's Office to set up tuition payment or payment plans. - Register for Classes
The fall class schedule is posted and registration is open. The winter and following summer class schedule will be posted in October and registration will open in November. You are able to register via your MyWCC portal, and if you need additional guidance on what classes to select, please consult your high school guidance counselor prior to reaching out to a WCC college advisor.

High school students may take college courses and get college credit while still attending high school. Students must be enrolled in at least one class at their home high school.
Dedicated High School Students (9th, 10th, 11th & 12th Grade) We say dedicated because this is an official "start" towards their post-high school academic record. . All credits earned through dual enrollment will be part of your official WCC transcript. Browse our entire course offerings.
Students save time and money by gaining an early start to their educational and career goals. Dual enrollment classes help to ease the transition between high school and college, since students are considered college students and have access to all of WCC student resources available! Depending on the class taken and grade achieved, students may transfer courses to most four-year institutions, not to mention, students have the support of their high school counselors as well as counselors at WCC
- Classes move at a faster pace than high school; a year-long high school course is condensed into 7 1/2 - 15 week terms (depending on the class and time of the year).
- WCC has a different break schedule than high school. Students are responsible for planning their schedules accordingly.
- Parent/guardian access to student records is limited. The College must abide by strict privacy rules. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student educational records without student written permission. We will provide students an opportunity to complete a Release of Information form.
- College is an adult learning environment. Courses may cover controversial issues. Learn more about how college is different than high school here.
- If in-person or mixed-mode classes, students must arrange their own transportation to and from campus; parking is free.

As soon as they know what they want! Fall classes are up and open for registration. The fall 2020 classes are available for dual enrollment (they're open for registration right now), and the winter 2021 schedule will be up in early November. There is always plenty of time to plan ahead! Summer and fall 2021 class schedules will be posted in March. If a student sees a course they would like to take (or several), they should connect right away!
